Concord Police Employees Receive Awards
Detective Sean Ford named Police Officer of the Year; Dispatcher Katie O'Neil named Civilian Employee of the Year.
On March 22, the Concord Police Department held its annual awards ceremony to recognize officers and civilian employees for demonstrating extraordinary efforts in the performance of their duties.
Detective Sean Ford received Police Officer of the Year in recognition of his high degree of motivation and dedication, commitment to service to the public, positive attitude and contributions to the Department.
Sean joined the department in September 1998. After two years in the Patrol Division he was assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division as a Detective where he has consistently performed at an extremely high level for over twelve years.

Sean’s knowledge and experience have been invaluable resources that are consistently called upon to assist with complex cases. He has an unparalleled ability to develop a rapport with suspects, victims and witnesses that has allowed him to obtain information leading to the successful resolution of cases.
He demonstrates a high level of professionalism and a continuous desire to take on challenging assignments. During 2012 his efforts were instrumental in the investigations of several cases involving bank robberies, burglaries, extortion, sexual assaults, and a cold case homicide. In addition, he has reached out to establish a law enforcement peer network and the Retail Loss Prevention Partnership Program that allows the sharing of information to help further investigations of all types.

Ford will also receive an award from the Concord Grange #322 in April.
Dispatcher Katie O’Neil received Civilian Employee of the Year in recognition of her extraordinary efforts in the performance of her duties.
Katie joined the Department in December, 2005 as a Dispatcher. As a part of the Dispatch team, she serves a function that is critical to everyday operations. The safety of officers and the outcome of thousands of calls a year depend on how well she performs her job on a daily basis.
Katie is known for her ability to be clear and concise in her communications and to multi-task effortlessly in order to retrieve and disseminate information. She is consistently professional and projects a positive demeanor to co-workers and citizens.
She recently initiated an in-house procedure that is being used to assist in the retrieval of data on bike patrol activity.
Commendation Bars for Lifesaving were awarded to the following: Officer Dana Dexter and Officer Almedin Dzelic – for their actions in performing CPR and using an automated external defibrillator (AED) on a woman who was found to be unconscious behind the wheel of her vehicle. The woman was not breathing and did not have a pulse. She recovered and was discharged from the hospital a week later.
Commendation Bars for Distinguished Unit Action were awarded to the following: Detectives Wade Brown, Joseph Chaput, Mark Dumas, Adam Fanjoy, Sean Ford, Matthew Lankhorst, Barrett Moulton, Charles Wroblewski, and Frank Cassidy (Merrimack County Sheriff’s Office) - for their investigation of a case involving a dangerous child predator. As a result, the defendant was arrested on multiple felony charges in two counties, as well as Federal charges.
