UPDATE: Man Faces Charges in Axe Attack
Christopher Jackson charged with first-degree assault after alleged incident at the homeless camps near the Merrimack River.
The has made an arrest in the alleged axe attack that happened in the homeless camps down by the earlier today.
Christopher Jackson, 33, of Concord, was charged with first-degree assault in the case.
According to a press release, Jackson allegedly confronted another man down at the camps and struck him in the head with an axe. transported the man to the hospital for treatment.

Jackson was arrested at around 5 p.m., a short time after the alleged attack. He is being held on $50,000 cash bail and is being held at the Merrimack County Jail in Boscawen.
Jackson will be arraigned in Sixth District Circuit Court on July 31.

The police were called to the scene at around 4:30 p.m. Officials are not commenting on the specifics although one stated that he didn’t believe the injuries were life threatening.
According to sources who witnessed the police action, one person was taken away on an ambulance stretcher while another man was arrested.
