Concord Police Investigating The Death Of A Young Child In The City’s South End Neighborhood

Update: Dakin Street was closed to traffic for several hours during an investigation of a child found dead at a duplex on Friday morning.

CONCORD, NH — Concord police were on Dakin Street for several hours Friday investigating the death of a child.

Limited information is available at the time of publication, but police were sent to the two-family home just before 8 a.m. for a report of someone seeing what they thought might be a dead child inside an apartment. The child appeared to be alone in their room, they said.

Concord fire and rescue teams were also sent to the scene to assist with a cardiac arrest call, according to scanner chatter. A few minutes later, they confirmed the child, believed to be about 3 years old, was dead.
