Concord Police Investigating Early Morning Downtown Shooting
A plow driver reports seeing two men, one with a gun, on Pleasant Street and then hearing a gunshot; cops spend hours inside an apartment.

CONCORD, NH — Concord police are investigating a shooting downtown during the overnight hours on Friday.
Police were sent to Pleasant Street and Odd Fellows Lane for a report of a shooting around 1:45 a.m.
As tow trucks were removing vehicles from around the city and plow trucks removing snow, one Concord General Services plow driver reported seeing two men, one with a handgun, on Pleasant Street across from Odd Fellows Lane. As the plow driver turned onto South State Street, they heard a gunshot. The plow driver said the two men left the area, ducking into a nearby apartment building, according to scanner chatter.

Both men were dressed in black and were wearing shorts, the driver told police.
Officers headed to the area to investigate while other officers checked surrounding streets to see if anyone had fled from the shooting. They then surrounded the intersection between State and Main streets. As they made their way into the apartment building, one reported from a hallway that they heard two men discussing firearms.

Later, officers gave the all-clear that the building was secure, requested caution tape to cordon off the street, and the evidence truck to be brought to Pleasant Street.
The eastbound side of the street was then closed to traffic.
Police also asked dispatch to contact the building's owner to access security camera footage.
At least one person was taken to Concord Hospital to be medically cleared and then to the county jail.
In a statement on Friday, Det. Sgt. Thomas Yerkes of the Concord Police Department said all the people involved in the incident have been identified and interviewed.
"The Concord Police Department has received no reports of injury related to this incident," he said. "This incident is currently being investigated. It has been determined that there is no danger to the public at this time."
Police, however, are asking any member of the public with information about the shooting to contact police.
