Concord Police Investigating Fatal Motorcycle Crash On Mountain Road
A motorcycle rider was killed Saturday after driving into a granite mailbox post near Hayward Brook on Mountain Road in East Concord.
CONCORD, NH — Concord police are investigating a fatal early morning motorcycle crash that took a rider's life on Mountain Road Saturday.
Around 2:45 a.m., dispatch received a call from a resident in the Hayward Brook area of the city reporting a motor vehicle, with its hazards on, stopped on the road and playing loud music. The caller described the scene while looking through the wooded area near his home, so they did not know what kind of vehicle it was.
The first responding officer arrived and reported seeing a motorcycle with its rider on the ground without movement. Other officers arrived, closed down the road, and requested fire and rescue teams just before 3 a.m.

“No one is coming through here,” one of the officers said. “This is, most likely, a code gray. There’s no pulse on him.”
According to scanner chatter, a medical examiner was reached around 4:15 a.m.

The road was closed for many hours as investigators took measurements and investigated the scene.
According to residents in the area, the crash occurred around 2 a.m., according to a Ring camera alert. They confirmed the tracks of the crash as well as damage to a granite mail post the rider drove into. According to marks on the road, it appeared the rider failed to navigate the turn, drove into a mailbox post, and was thrown from the motorcycle. Alcohol was a factor in the crash, a resident said.
Concord police cleared the scene, including removing evidence and other debris, around 9 a.m.
An on-call watch commander chose not to speak about the crash Saturday.
