CONCORD, NH — Concord fire and rescue teams and police were sent to Basin Street on Saturday for a reported shooting.

Just past 2:30 p.m., dispatch received a call from a man who said he had accidentally shot himself in the leg. A woman was with the man, according to scanner chatter. The woman, dispatch reported later, might have active warrants.

Officers confirmed the man was shot, and emergency medical services treated him.

One officer said they were pretty sure the man was a felon and was not legally allowed to have a firearm. The woman he was with was checked, was OK, and did not have warrants.

The man was taken by ambulance to Concord Hospital. Officers, including an evidence technician, also went to the hospital.
