Concord Police Investigating South Main Street Burglary

Witness says two teenagers were seen near the home "acting strange"; video released from security camera. Do you know anything?

On Nov. 11, at approximately 5:40 p.m. Concord Police responded to the area of 279 South Main S. regarding a burglary.

The victim reported that a house that belongs to his parents had been burglarized. The victim reported that no one had been in the home since Nov. 8. Sometime between Nov. 8, and Nov. 11, the home had been entered and burglarized. The victim had come to the home on the 11th to collect old photographs for her mother, who is in a nursing home. Upon entering the home she discovered the crime.

The victim later discovered that the suspect(s) may have entered the home through a side door, which was discovered to be broken. She described the home as appearing “ransacked.”

Further inspection of the home by police confirmed that furniture drawers had been pulled out and dumped, couch cushions had been flipped over, and numerous belongings had been scattered throughout the house.

The victim reported that some items were missing from the home. Included was a small 21”-24” Insignia flat screen TV and several bottles of alcohol and wine. The victim said that other items could be missing but it was hard to determine given the mess that was left.

Police spoke with a witness at a nearby business who said that on Nov 10, at approximately 4:30 p.m. she saw two teenagers outside her window acting strange. She said that the female ran down a hill from the rear of the victim’s house through the bushes into the Concord Coach parking lot.

She said that the female then ran toward South Main Street. The neighbor said the male was crouching near a fence at the top of the hill (near the victim’s house) which seemed suspicious. She did not see where he went however.

The neighbor described the male and female as teenagers, approximately 16 years old. She said that the female had a maroon shirt on and had long brown hair. She could not provide a description of the male.

Police obtained video from a nearby business, which shows showed the two subjects in question. The video is from Nov. 10, at approximately 4:15 p.m. The video camera in question faces west and is located at a business just south of the victim’s house. (see the attached map)

On the video there appears to be a male subject running south on South Main Street. He is possibly wearing a black sweatshirt. A few seconds later there appears to be a skinny female with long hair and wearing a maroon sweatshirt and tight black pants running south through the Concord Coach parking lot south toward Evolution Rock and Fitness. Both the male and the female were only captured by the cameras for a few seconds.

The Concord Police are actively investigating this case and are asking public to assist in identifying the individuals of interest depicted in the attached video.
