Concord Police Seek Assistance Solving Attempted Armed Robbery Case

Man pulls gun on clerk at Sam's Food Store in Penacook on Saturday night; do you recognize the man in these pictures?

The Concord Police Department is asking for assistance from the community in solving an attempted robbery that occurred on the night of Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, at the Sam’s Food Store at 308 Village St. in Penacook, according to a Concord Regional Crimeline alert.

At approximately 9:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to the store for a report of an attempted armed robbery. Upon arrival, the clerk advised that an unknown white man entered the store carrying a black handgun, according to Lt. Timothy O’Malley, the commander of the criminal investigations division of the department.

“The clerk stated that the man pointed the handgun at him and demanded that he open a nearby safe,” O’Malley stated. “The clerk stated that he immediately activated a panic alarm, and the suspect turned and left the store without further action.”

No one was injured during the incident and no property was obtained by the suspect. A canvass of the area was conducted with no possible suspects or vehicles observed.

The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 5-feet, 5-inches tall, in his early 20s, wearing dark pants, a dark long sleeve shirt, a blue baseball hat, and a tan cloth over the lower portion of his face. The baseball hat featured an unidentified logo on the front left panel above the bill. The suspect also wore mismatched footwear with bright red/orange laces on one shoe, according to the alert.
