Concord Regional Crimeline Looking for Assistance with Theft Case

Investigators are looking for information about a woman allegedly involved in theft incidents at the Storrs Street Market Basket.

The Concord Regional Crimeline has issued an alert asking for assistance in identifying a woman who may have stolen items from Market Basket on Storrs Street last month.

According to the alert, on Jan. 24, 2015, officers were called to the store for a report of a theft.

When they arrived, they spoke to an employee who alleged that a woman had stolen a pack of cigarettes from the sales area, which is closed to customers.

“The employee recognized the female as the same individual that had stolen cigarettes from the store on a previous occasion,” according to Lt. Timothy O’Malley, the commander of the criminal investigations unit. “A manager exited the store in an attempt to stop the subject at which time he observed her walking on the sidewalk towards Sal’s Pizza. The manager reported that he asked the female to come back to the store, at which time she ran away.”

Officers reviewed footage of the other theft, which occurred the week before, on Jan. 17, and acknowledged that it appeared to be the same woman. In that case, the woman grabbed a single bottle of Twisted Tea and put it in her purse. She then walked over to the cigarette sales area, grabbed a pack, and put it into a white shoulder bag.

“The footage then shows the female exiting the store without paying for either item,” O’Malley noted.

The woman is described as white with long, dark hair, and a thin build.
