Concord’s Market Days Festival Seeks Volunteers

All kinds of fun — music, food, shopping, and more, is slated to happen downtown between Aug. 19 and Aug. 21 at the 47th annual festival.

CONCORD, NH — The 47th Market Days Festival in Concord is on the horizon but it cannot be as good as it can be without your assistance.

Intown Concord, the sponsor of the event, is looking for volunteers to assist. In fact, the organizers said this week that volunteers were “badly needed.” Tasks include trash removal, assistance at the touch-a-truck area, welcome booth help, beer tent shifts, and other tasks. Event Times

The 47th Market Days Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, to Saturday, Aug. 21.

Street Closures

Main Street will be closed from 4 a.m. on Aug. 19 to 1 a.m. on Aug. 22 between Hills Avenue and Centre Street-Loudon Road. Side streets that will be partially or fully closed include Pleasant, Depot, Warren, School, Capitol, and Park streets.

Scheduled Events

There are all kinds of things going on at Market Days this year. Just announced this week, Recycled Percussion’s Chaos and Kindness truck will be featured from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday in the touch-a-truck area. Here is your chance to get up close and personal with this cool rig.

Performances

There are all kinds of performances this year including Mikey G, Chris Peters, and the Freese Brothers Big Band on Thursday, Queen City Soul and Club Soda on Friday, and more on Saturday, too. Performances begin at 11 a.m. and will be held at a stage on Main Street, an Eagle Square stage, and Bicentennial Square, too.
