Concord’s Sam’s Club To Reopen Friday After Sanitization
The company's Sheep Davis Road location has been closed as part of a corporate initiative to thoroughly clean and restock the store.

CONCORD, NH — A major retail store will reopen Friday after being closed for two days for cleaning and restocking.
Sam’s Club closed at 4 p.m. on Wednesday as part of a company-initiated thorough cleaning and sanitization effort. Third-party cleaning crews were hired and brought in to clean the store. Also, during the closure, employees restocked shelves in preparation for reopening on Friday. The cleaning effort was part of an overall coronavirus response both Sam’s and Walmart have been using to keep both customers and employees safe.
“As you know, several areas across the country have seen a renewed increase in positive COVID-19 cases, and we want to assist health officials working against the pandemic,” JD Byrum, of the store’s corporate communications office, said. “In support of this effort, we have chosen to temporarily close our Concord, NH club location ... everything we’re doing is for the well-being of our associates and the thousands of members we serve daily, and in consideration of guidance by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and health experts. Given the rise in positive cases through the delta variant, we will follow CDC guidance, which includes fully vaccinated people wearing masks in public indoor settings in counties with substantial or high transmission.”

Byrum said since CDC updates information weekly, guidance on mask usage may change, at different locations, randomly.
