Christine Holliday-Rowe, a Christa McAuliffe kindergarten teacher, died after an 18-month battle with cancer.

CONCORD, NH — An elementary school educator with the Concord School District has died after battling stage-four cancer for more than 18 months.
Grief counselors and support staff are at the Christa McAuliffe Elementary School after the district announced that Christine Holliday-Rowe, a kindergarten teacher, had died. Kathleen Murphy, the SAU 8 school superintendent, said she had been an educator with the district for nine years, starting first by providing tutorial services in reading and mathematics and later.
She had been a “beloved kindergarten teacher for the past five years,” she said.

“Christine was a teacher respected by her colleagues and a mentor to new teachers in her school,” Murphy said. “Her absolute love for her students is seen through the eyes of the children and the joy she brought to the classroom each day … Our deepest sympathy to her husband, two children, and Christine’s extended family.”
Holliday-Rowe was named a distinguished educator in the district in 2022, with Kris Gallo, the school’s principal, noting “her courage and determination to always be present in her classroom at Christa McAuliffe is amazing.”
