Concord School Superintendent Rath Wants Three More Years

Contract extension to be discussed Tuesday.

If anyone in the city believed that the opening of would be Concord School District Superintendent swan song, capping off a 36 years of work in education in Concord and more than 43 years overall, think again.

In the school board’s online informational package for its meeting scheduled for Sept. 4, Rath is requesting and has been recommended for a three-year contract extension, through June 30, 2015.

Currently, Rath is paid a little more than $129,000, with a mileage stipend, and has been the superintendent since 2000.

members met in non-public session on Aug. 27, to discuss the superintendent’s annual review. Specifics in the contract extension proposal, such as any pay increases, new goals, or anything else, were unknown at press time.
