Concord Store Clerk Stabbed While Fighting Off Robber: Cops
Police: White male suspect asked Concord Mart Convenience Store on North Main Street if he wanted to die before incident; flees with cash.

CONCORD, NH – On Jan. 24, 2016 at approximately 2:25 PM the Concord Police Department responded to the Concord Mart Convenience Store at 242 N. Main St. for a report of a robbery with a knife.
The store clerk reported he had been stabbed, according to police.
Concord Police Officers responded to the store with the Concord Fire Department. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries due to a laceration to his hand, according to a press statement.

The clerk reported that the suspect came into the store, brandished a knife, asked him if he “wanted to die,” then demanded money from the cash register. The clerk opened the register and the suspect began taking money.
“Moments later the clerk retrieved a stick from behind the counter and attempted to fend off the suspect,” according to Watch Commander, Lt. Joseph Wright. “During the struggle the clerk sustained a laceration to his hand from the knife. The clerk was ultimately able to fend off the suspect. The suspect ran from the store with an undisclosed amount of money.”

Concord Police searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. Video of the incident was recovered and still photos of the suspect are attached. The suspect was described as follows: White, male, possibly in his 40s, with gray facial hair. He was wearing a dark colored hooded jacket with a hood as well as white and black sneakers and light colored blue jeans.
The investigation is ongoing and police should have more information tomorrow.
