Concord Students Join Board

Ethan LaFrance and Peter Rouvalis are this year's school board student representatives.

Two seniors joined the school board this week as the new student representatives to the board.

Ethan LaFrance and Peter Rouvalis will spend the next nine months participating in meetings and updating board members about things going on at the student level.

School Board President Kass Ardinger said she was “delighted” to have them both on the board since she knew their parents.

“They are fine examples of what Concord High School produces,” she said.

“Thank you for having us,” noted Rouvalis, saying he was looking forward to representing the student body.

Rouvalis said both he and LaFrance were reminiscing earlier in the evening about how they both attended early in their lives. Both went through Dewey, Kimball, Rundlett, and the high school, he said, adding that he had participated in student government and was looking forward to serving.

“Like Peter, I’m very grateful for the chance to be here with all of you,” LaFrance said. “I look forward to sharing the perspective of a student throughout the year and seeing, up close and personal, all the hard work that the parents and the adults here in Concord do on behalf of the students like us.”

“We’re happy to have you both on board,” added Ardinger, suggesting that they both comment and ask questions about anything going on. “You’re members of this board while we’re sitting here. You can’t vote. But certainly, your input is valued.”
