Concord Teen On Bike OK After Being Struck By Car: Watch

The teen received 13 stitches to his leg after being struck at the intersection of Rumford and North State streets on Monday.

CONCORD, NH — A teen from Concord on a bicycle is OK after being struck by a car at the Rumford and North State streets intersection on Monday.

Concord firefighters on Engine 5, who were driving on Rumford Street, came across a crash involving what appeared to be a car and pedestrian around 12:15 p.m. Police dispatch, hearing the call, also sent officers. After firefighters realized it was a bike crash and the bicyclist was injured, they requested an ambulance.

The impact shattered the windshield of the car. Officers took photos at the scene. The ambulance was canceled later after firefighters could tend to the teen. A guardian came to pick him up later.

The car, a Volkswagen Jetta, was driven by a parolee previously convicted of first-degree assault. He had no active warrants, dispatch said.

The teen reported to Concord NH Patch he had 13 stitches in his leg due to the crash but was doing OK.
