Concord Thief in Trouble Again
Police: Wendy Gene Kelly faces more felony charges after incidents at Walmart and Cumbies.

A local woman who has been in a mess of trouble during the last year is facing more charges.
Wendy Gene Kelly, 51, of North State Street in Concord, was arrested on Aug. 28, on a willful concealment charge. She was also at 11:27 a.m. on Aug. 29, and charged with falsifying physical evidence, a felony. Kelly was also arrested at 5 p.m. on Sep. 19, on a felony theft charge.
According to police, on Aug. 25, Kelly was scheduled for a probable cause hearing for a theft incident involved items that were left by a woman in a shopping cart at Target that Kelly allegedly stole back in March. However, she failed to appear at the June hearing.

According to Lt. Timothy O’Malley, the commander of the criminal investigations unit, the city prosecutor received a letter from her attorney saying that she missed the hearing due to caring for a sick family member.
However, the prosecutor had concerns that Kelly’s claim wasn’t accurate. Police investigated the matter and they allege that Kelly’s claim was false so the charge was filed.

The day before she was arrested on the evidence charge, according to police, Kelly was at the Cumberland Farms on North Main Street and allegedly stole items from the store. A store employee alleged that she placed items in her purse from a cooler and didn’t pay for them. The employee also alleged that she was in the day before stealing items.
Then, on Sept. 19, Kelly was arrested again, this time at the Walmart on Loudon Road.
According to a report, an officer was called to the store for a shoplifter in custody. The loss prevention officer, who normally works in Tilton but happened to be working in Concord, reported that he was watching Kelly in the store and realized that she was the same woman who was arrested for allegedly stealing from the Walmart in Tilton in August.
The employee watched Kelly go into the infant section and take items including socks, sheets, pillowcases, capris, and blanket, and other items into bags. A king size blow up mattress was also in her cart. According to the employee, Kelly allegedly pushed the cart by the cash registers and didn’t pay for any of the items.
After leaving the store, the employee confronted Kelly and asked her to come back into the store.
The items were valued at $123.05.
Kelly was arrested and also given a no trespass order.
According to the report, “Kelly had a lengthy criminal record for theft,” including convictions in June 2010, October 2011, and an arrest on Aug. 25, for willful concealment at the Tilton Walmart.
