UPDATE: Water Main Repaired in Downtown Concord
A Main Street water pipe has been repaired after being damaged on April 14, shutting down water services for most of the day.
Update, 10:30 p.m. The water main downtown has been repaired and water services are being restored to areas that were affected by the break. Officials report no damage to buildings, basements, or businesses downtown.
Update, 4:27 p.m. Construction crews are still working on the water main downtown but it could be a bit longer before water is restored.
According to an alert on the Concord Main Street dig page, “Water services are currently on schedule to be restored at some point this evening, and definitely by tomorrow morning.” Once it’s back up and running, officials stated that residents should run their cold water taps to remove any discoloration.

Update, 9:43 a.m. Utility crews have stabilized the water pressure downtown and crews are repairing the break. Officials are advising people downtown to run the tap on cold to wash out the discoloration. “Water will be unavailable for most of the day for areas close to the break (School St. to Hills Ave.),” according to the updated alert.

Highway and Utility crews are on Main Street in Concord at this hour responding to a 20-inch water main break on North Main Street.
The break is near the CVS Pharmacy.
City officials report that there is low pressure or no pressure, and potentially color in the surrounding areas, according to an alert. Crews are working to return water service as fast as possible, the alert stated.
The department ended the alert by stating, “Thank you for your patience and understanding.”
