Concord's Own Mary Baker Eddy: A Life of Discovery

Concord's Own Mary Baker Eddy: A life of discovery... A Free Public talk on this remarkable Concord native

First Church of Christ, Concord is teaming up with CONCORD 250 to present a live, free talk on Concord’s own Mary Baker Eddy, one of the 19th Century’s most influential women. Whether you are interested in the rich contribution Mrs. Eddy made to her beloved Concord and to all mankind, or seeking a new spiritual insight and inspiration, this talk will serve your quest well.

Mary Baker Eddy is the discoverer and founder of the Christian Science church and movement, which today spans the entire globe with active, healing branch churches and healing practitioners. She was born in neighboring Bow NH, and lived in and actively contributed to her beloved Concord, during the most important times of her effort to learn the Science of the Christ, write and re-write her best-selling textbook ”Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures”, and organize the church she founded to elevate awareness and understanding of her discovery.

Our speaker is Chet Manchester. Chet is an international speaker on Mrs. Eddy, and the religion she introduced. Chet has been creative director of the new Mary Baker Eddy Library in Boston, and has written screen-play for several movies on Mrs. Eddy. He is also a teacher and a healing practitioner in Christian Science, and has given talks on the religion and its founder all over the world.
