Contoocook River Water Rescue Reported

Upate: Concord Fire and Rescue teams are at Runnells Road and Bog Road for a water rescue call.

CONCORD, NH — Concord Fire and Rescue teams are in the area of Runnells Road along the Contoocook River for a report of a water rescue, according to scanner chatter. The victim reportedly fell from a tree into the river at around 4 p.m. on July 21, 2017. Firefighters are reportedly staged at the Riverhill Market and were to have boats coming to the area to assist.

At least one person was heard yelling for help because the other person was injured with both parties attempting to reach the beach.

At around 4:15 p.m., fire dispatch reported that two people had made it to the beach and they were with an off-duty firefighter. One reportedly has a head injury. Firefighters are making their way to the victim by foot and are hoping to reach the victim during the next eight or nine minutes. A boat was also able to get to the scene, according to chatter.

This is the second time today that firefighters were in this area of the city. A code grey call was reported from River Road, not far from the intersection with Bog Road and Carter Hill Road.
