Convicted NH Sexual Assaulter, Facing 6 Sexual Assault Charges, Arrested Again
Thomas Thibeault of Newbury was out on bail after being arrested on multiple sexual assault charges in February. Now, he faces new charges.

CONCORD, NH — A felon and sex offender, convicted of sexual assault against a child in 2009 and accused of sexual assault in February, now faces more charges.
Thomas Thibeault, 36, with a last known address of Springfield Road in Newport, was arrested on Saturday by New Hampshire State Police on aggravated felonious sexual assault and duty to report charges, both felonies.
Thibeault was arrested in February on six felony counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault and one of second-degree assault-domestic violence-strangulation after an incident in Salisbury. During the course of the investigation, an additional sexual assault was identified, Amber Lagace, the public information officer for the state police, said.

According to superior court records, Thibeault is a felon and sex offender due to a felonious sexual assault charge from October 2008 and a reckless conduct charge from August 2008 in Sullivan County. He pleaded guilty to both charges in April 2009. The victim in the sexual assault case was under 16, according to state records. Thibeault pleaded guilty to a probation violation in November 2010, connected to the cases.
Thibeault was convicted on a criminal trespassing charge in May 2012.
In December 2016, he filed a civil complaint against the Disnard Elementary School in Claremont, but no information was available about the case's specifics.
Thibeault petitioned to annul the sexual assault and reckless conduct charges in July 2021, but that request was withdrawn later. In February and March, the Merrimack County Attorney’s Office requested court documents from the 2009 sexual assault case.
