Manchester Man Arrested in Gas Station Robbery

State Police K9 unit assists in hunt.

Earlier this morning, officers arrested Mark D. Ricard, 54, of Manchester, and charged him with one count of robbery after he allegedly robbed the on Loudon Road.

According to a police report, officers were sent to 24 Loudon Road for a report of a robbery. Upon arrival, a clerk at the store reported that a white man entered the store and allegedly stole a number of items without paying. The clerk reportedly confronted the suspect about the items and during the discussion, the suspect allegedly “picked up an object and began swinging it at the clerk,” according to a police report. The man later left the area on foot.

Officers scoured the area looking for the suspect and later, requested assistance from the State Police’s K9 unit. The K9 unit began searching the area and located the man, later identified as Ricard, in a wooded area near the gas station. He was later identified as the man who allegedly robbed the store, according to the report.

The charge against Ricard is a Class B Felony. He refused bail and was later transported to the Merrimack County House of Correction. He will be arraigned later today.
