Council Approves Rezoning For Exit 17 Parcel

Mixed use concept plan includes a proposal for a supermarket, warehouse, restaurants, as well as retail services at Whitney Road.

CONCORD, NH — The Concord City Council on Monday night unanimously approved of the rezoning of most of a 42-acre parcel on Whitney Road and Hoit Road, near Exit 17 on I-93 in Concord from Industrial to Gateway Performance district. David and Laurie Rauseo, as members of Interchange Development LLC, submitted a revised rezoning request to the city earlier this year. The plan is to build a supermarket as well as warehouse space, retail and services space, office and medical space, and restaurants.

The vote of the city council was unanimous, according to councilors.

Several issues remain before anything will be built on the site. Intersection improvements will need to be proposed and created and the city is in the process of other zoning charges. An extension of Whitney Road – possibly into the Concord Monitor’s parcels – may also be considered in the future.
