Cows Escape From Farm, Roam West Concord: Watch
A commuter on North State Street alerted police on Friday to several cows walking in the West Concord neighborhood.
CONCORD, NH — One of the reasons New Hampshire is called “Cow Hampshire” sometimes? Well, we have cows. And sometimes, they roam around.
On Friday, an alert commuter on North State Street called police after encountering five cows walking in the street, one of the busier roads in the city. An officer arrived at the area just before 9 a.m. The caller told the officer the cows had moved up Parmenter Road.
The officer drove up and found the cows near a housing complex. The officer asked other officers if they knew of one of the nearby farmers in the area who may own the cattle. One mentioned a farm on Hutchins Street. Dispatch called and confirmed the cows belonged to that farmer, and they had gotten loose from their farm.
