Crash Closes Canterbury Road

NHSP were sent to Shaker Road this morning for an accident; utility workers estimate the road will be closed for six hours for repairs.

CANTERBURY, NH - New Hampshire State Police were sent to an accident on Shaker Road in Canterbury this morning and are now warning that the road will be closed for many hours while utility workers make repairs.

At just before 6 a.m. on April 13, 2016, troopers were sent to the road for a report of a vehicle off the road. When they arrived they found that a 2017 Kia Sportage had driven off the road and slammed into a utility pole and breaking it, according to a report. The driver was a woman from Canterbury. No injuries were reported from the scene.

A section of the road, in the area of Baptist Hill Road, was closed while utility workers secured the area to render it safe for travel, according to Sgt. Ron Taylor of Troop D, but that closure will remain until the pole is repaired.
