Crash on I-93 Leads to Drug Charges in Bow

Police arrested Tara Messner of Hooksett, Corey M. Douglas of Manchester and Port Charlotte, FL, on drug charges at the Bow Park and Ride.

BOW, NH — An officer observing people walking away from a damaged vehicle at the park and ride led to charges against two, according to police. Tara Messner, 35, of Hooksett, was arrested on April 10, 2017, on a transportation of a controlled drug charge. Also arrested was Corey M. Douglas, 28, of Manchester and Port Charlotte, FL, for felony possession of a controlled drug and false report to law enforcement.

At around 10 p.m., an officer saw a man and a woman walking away from “a heavily damaged vehicle” at the Bow Park and Ride, according to Sgt. Art Merrigan of the Bow Police Department.

“When the officer approached them, he noticed they appeared to be suffering from minor lacerations,” Merrigan said. “The officer inquired as to where the accident happened and was told on I-93.”

Messner reportedly consented to a search of the vehicle and was later arrested. The passenger – Douglas – allegedly gave the officers a false name and date of birth, according to Merrigan. Douglas was later arrested and charged, and then, transported to Concord Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Messner was released on personal recognizance bail and is due in Concord District Court on May 22. Douglass was also released on bail and is due to appear in Merrimack County Superior Court on May 4.

Merrigan noted that New Hampshire State Police were investigating the crash incident.
