Crimeline Seeks Help Finding Convicted Burglar

Bow Police are looking for Christopher Benson for a parole warrant, resisting, felon with a dangerous weapon; he has ties to Concord, Weare.

BOW, NH — The Concord Regional Crimeline has issued an alert asking the public for help finding a man wanted on a parole warrant and other charges. Christopher Benson, 38, a homeless man now located in the capital region, is wanted on an outstanding warrant for burglary as well as charges by Bow Police for resisting arrest and felon in possession of a dangerous weapon.

According to the alert, last night, a Bow patrol officer reportedly saw Benson inside a vehicle at the Irving Circle K on Route 3A.

“As the officer approached, Benson ran from the vehicle and a foot pursuit ensued,” Sgt. Art Merrigan of the Bow Police Department stated in the alert. “Benson fled into the wooded area behind the gas station. The Bow K-9 Unit, Concord Police, and the New Hampshire State Police assisted but Officers were unable to locate Benson.”

Benson was wearing yellow shirts and a black T-shirt. He is 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighs around 180 lbs., and has hazel eyes. Benson is believed to be homeless in the Concord area, according to Merrigan, and also has ties to Weare. Merrigan warned that if you know where he is or see him, do not approach him.

Benson, according to press reports, walked away from a county jail back in May 2011 while he was awaiting trial on burglary, conspiracy, and resisting charges, after allegedly burglarizing Lovering Volvo on Manchester Street. He was arrested in August 2011 on burglary, three counts of conspiracy, and one count of attempted burglary, after allegedly stealing cooper piping from locations around Concord in 2010. In November 2011, Benson was convicted of burglary and resisting arrest in Hillsborough County Superior Court North after burglarizing a Goffstown home.
