CT Trucker Injured in I-93 Crash

New Hampshire State Police are looking for witnesses who may have seen the tractor trailer rollover last night near Exit 16.

New Hampshire State Police are investigating a tractor trailer rollover that occurred at around 11:30 p.m. on Nov. 17, 2015, on the northbound side of I-93 just north of Exit 16.

According to a report, state police were called about a truck driving off the side of the road into the woods. When they arrived, they located a heavily damaged tractor trailer unit with the driver still trapped inside the cab and semi-conscious.

A state trooper and a passerby assisted the driver until Concord Fire and Rescue teams arrived on scene.

The truck was a 2014 Freightliner, owned and operated by Ross Express of Boscawen, that was being driven by a 37-year-old Meriden, CT, man.

“For reasons unknown the tractor trailer unit went off the right side of the roadway striking multiple large trees,” according to Sgt. Ron Taylor. “ As a result, the cab was torn from the vehicle frame striking a tree pinning (the man) inside. The force of the impact ruptured both fuel tanks and caused the box trailer to break into multiple pieces.”

The man was freed from the vehicle by firefighters and transported to the Concord Hospital where he is being treated for serious injuries but is reported to be in stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
