Damage to Car Leads to Charges Against Concord Woman
Makris Lobster & Steak House employee allegedly damages co-worker's, past lover's car.

A local woman was arrested in June after allegedly damaging a former lover’s car.
Amanda Rose Parent, 23, of Branch Turnpike in Concord, was arrested at 10:47 a.m. on Jun 15, and charged with criminal mischief and theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.
An officer was sent to the Makris Lobster & Steak House to investigate involving an employee’s vehicle that was damaged at the restaurant.

According to the employee, the night before, after his shift was over, at about 12 a.m., he stayed at the restaurant to have some drinks with other employees. He decided not to drive and instead, left his car parked in the lot at the front of the restaurant. The next day, when he returned, he noticed that his Saturn Aura had been keyed on the driver’s side front door, a tire was slashed, and his rear license plate and front dealership plate were missing.
The officer took pictures of the missing items and damage and asked the man if he knew who might have done this. The man said he didn’t know. But when asked if anyone was angry with him, he said that another co-worker, Parent, was.

The man said that he and Parent had previously “hooked up” and described what she looked like to the officer.
The man showed a text message he had received from another co-worker alleging that she damaged the car and was mad at him for talking to another girl the previous night. The co-worker suggested that he tell the officer to look at the security footage to see if it picked up anything. The victim also shared other text messages from Parent, according to the report, that the officer stated made it clear the two were involved in a domestic relationship.
The officer took a look at the video and, at around 1:09 a.m., saw a blue minivan that the man identified as possibly Parent’s, circle around the parking lot. A white woman with blonde hair and a ponytail got out of the minivan and then allegedly took the paper license plate off the car. Then, she reportedly walked around to the front of the vehicle and then back to the front driver’s side door of the vehicle. She then walked to the tire area and then to the back of the vehicle again.
The woman then got in the car and left the area.
An employee at the restaurant told the officer that Parent would be in soon to start her shift. A few minutes later, the officer observed a blue minivan pull into the parking lot, past the man’s vehicle and the police cruiser, and into the back lot.
“I observed that the vehicle appeared to be similar to the suspect vehicle seen in the video surveillance footage,” the officer alleged.
The officer spoke to the driver, Parent, and noted that she had blonde hair in a ponytail, similar to the video.
The officer began to question Parent about the incident and she allegedly denied knowing anything about the damage to the vehicle. The officer asked where she was that night and she reportedly stated she was with a friend and helped the friend get a motel room in the area.
When told that he had just watched the video of the incident, Parent allegedly denied damaging the vehicle or stealing the plates. When reminded again that he had just watched the video, Parent allegedly stated that she had trouble talking and got confused when she tells stories. Parent then allegedly stated that the two were only friends but had been hanging out together.
Three times, the officer alleged, she denied having possession of the license plates, and was arrested.
Parent was arraigned on July 14.
