Dancer Wins Miss Concord Heights Contest

Hadleigh Sargent of Penacook takes the crown at third annual Concord event.

Hadleigh Sargent, a 10-year-old from Penacook, was named “Miss Concord Heights” on Sept. 13, 2015, at the annual Heights Old Home Day. Hadleigh performed a dance during the contest.

Placing second was Aubrey Anderson, 9, who sang “True Colors” and also performed a short dance presentation as the song faded out.

Placing third was Haylee Collins, 8, who offered a tumbling presentation for the contest.

Also participating were Addison Sargent, who danced to Shirley Temple singing “Animal Crackers” and Carmella Dasaro, who was a bit shy at first in presenting her dance routine but after some encouragement from mom and a friend, finished her performance. During the routine, she also offered a closing artwork creation that she chipped away at after every move.

Along with the performances, the girls were asked questions about their favorite book, what they liked about school, pets they have, and what they might do with $1 million, among other questions.

Other talent contests were held as part of the event and bands performed. There was even a pie contest. Local politicians also attended the event. Here are some photos from the event with the girls performing at the Heights Community Center.
