Details Coming Soon in Durgin Block Garage Stabbings Incident

Concord Police releasing limited information at this time but say the public is not in any danger.

Two people were stabbed last night in Concord in the Durgin Block Parking Garage and while police are limiting the amount of information about the incident, they are noting that it was not a random act of violence and the public is not in any danger.

At around 9 p.m. on Sept. 28, police were called to the parking garage for a report of a man and woman who had been stabbed. They closed off a section of School Street to search for evidence in the case, including visits to both the Durgin and Firehouse/YMCA garages. New Hampshire State Police were also at the scene assisting, according to scanner traffic.

Concord Fire and Rescue teams transported both of the people were who stabbed to the hospital, according to Lt. Timothy O’Malley, the commander of the criminal investigations unit. The woman was released today; the man was still in the hospital, he said, due to having more severe injuries.

Police quickly learned that the incident appeared to not be a random act. O’Malley stated that police are in the process of interviewing “multiple people” who may have been witnesses to the case. He said that people shouldn’t be concerned that any of the parking garages aren’t safe due to this incident.

“There was no immediate danger to anyone else,” O’Malley said. “This wasn’t a random event.”
