The bird, which is the second largest living bird in the world, is not native to Bow or New Hampshire but lives in Australia, meaning that someone in the region, it would appear, has lost its pet. According to Wikipedia, "The emu is an important cultural icon of Australia, appearing on the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coat_of_arms_of_Australia" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">coat of arms</a> and various coins.
