Police made contact with a man – Hill – and found out he had a warrant. He was immediately arrested, according to Lt. Timothy O’Malley of the Concord Police Department.

Police at the scene noted that there were chemicals in the trunk of a car and a woman sitting inside it and thought it might be for meth manufacturing, according to the alert. Two witnesses who work in the area allegedly saw a white man, believed to be Hill, "quickly enter the residence and start throwing burning items out of the second floor window (of the home)." They also reportedly saw the man moving a trash bag out, too, according to O'Malley.

“The female reported that she and Hill had gone to the hardware store and upon arrival back home noticed that there was smoke coming from their apartment,” O’Malley stated. “The female said that Hill ran into the apartment and handed her all of the chemicals and told her to quickly put them into the car. Only moments later police arrived.”

A neighbor also reported seeing “smoke bellowing from a window” and when he entered the building, allegedly “found several small plastic items burning and melting,” according to the report.

“Based on the statements made by witnesses, observations of precursor chemicals for the manufacture of methamphetamine and the statement made by the female resident of the apartment police believed there was probable cause that Edward Hill had initiated a ‘methamphetamine cook’ inside the residence,” O’Malley alleged. "The investigation is ongoing."

After police secured the building, the New Hampshire Clandestine Laboratory Team was called in and police requested a search warrant for the premises. After receiving it, "all hazardous materials" were secured, according to O'Malley.

More charges were issued against him after police allegedly found him in possession of Suboxone. Hill refused bail and was held.
