Downtown Concord Paving Continues Tuesday
Paving operations resumed on South Main Street while North Main Street sidewalk work will be done, too.

CONCORD, NH - South Main Street has made its first full month of construction in 2016. It may be a minor achievement, but it's one step closer to completion.
The city is undergoing a busy and aggressive schedule and picks up in May where it left off in April.
This Monday and Tuesday will see fine grading to sidewalks, and then crews will pave the newly reclaimed portion of street from Fayette Street to Concord Street on Tuesday, according to the Main Street Project.

Paving operations will cause temporary closures to Theatre Street and the parking lot behind Constantly Pizza and the Abbott Bennett Group building. In the interest of safety during paving operations, northbound thru traffic on South Main Street will be diverted through Thorndike St. as opposed to Concord St. This will occur on Tuesday only. Those visiting businesses or residents will be permitted north of Thorndike St.
Wednesday through Friday will see the installation of light pole bases as well as electrical and irrigation conduit installation. Work on Friday will be to prepare manholes for Saturday, where crews will be raising manhole castings throughout the day (7 a.m. to 5 p.m.).

North Main Street Sidewalk Work
The return of warmer weather will also allow crews to work on some punch list items to North Main Street.
Beginning Tuesday crews will begin sealing granite and brick portions of the sidewalk and bump outs. Crews will start on the east side of North Main Street at Park Street and make their way south before flipping to the west side to seal brick and granite again from Park Street south.
Pedestrians are asked to avoid walking in marked areas for 24 hours while the sealant cures. The concrete portion of sidewalk adjacent to buildings will be open to pedestrian traffic as this area was sealed last year.
