Driver Arrested After Crash On North State Street In Concord

Update: Cops: A driver involved in a crash Tuesday at the intersection with Hutchins Street refused to participate in a field sobriety test.

CONCORD, NH — Concord police and fire and rescue teams were sent to a single-vehicle crash at Hutchins and North State streets on Tuesday night.

Just past 9:15 p.m., police dispatch received a call from a resident in the area who reported hearing squealing tires and then a crash. A second caller reported a car had crashed into a stone wall near the intersection. The airbags in the vehicle had deployed, the caller said.

The first arriving officer requested a third police vehicle to deal with traffic since the car was in the middle of the street. Southbound traffic was diverted from North State Street to Hutchins while the northbound lane on North State Street was kept open.
