Driver Crashes Into Parked Van On North State Street In Concord

An officer patrolling downtown found a car crashed into a parked van Sunday. The driver had a head injury; was charged with drunken driving.

CONCORD, NH — A Concord police officer, patrolling downtown, came across an accident on North State Street in front of the YMCA on Sunday which led later to an arrest.

Around 3 a.m., the officer found that a Toyota Camry, with its airbags deployed, had crashed into a parked van not far from the Fire House Block Garage. The officer called for backup as she investigated the driver who was out of the vehicle. About five minutes into the investigation, Concord fire and rescue teams were requested due to the driver complaining about a head injury, the officer told dispatch. After EMTs arrived and examined the driver, he was then taken to Concord Hospital.

A tow truck was called later to remove the Camry.
