SUV Median Crash; Car Crash On Hopkinton Road In Concord, Lead To Charges

A crash on North State Street on Friday night and Hopkinton Road on Saturday morning led to charges against two drivers by Concord police.

CONCORD, NH — Concord police were sent to crashes on Friday night and Saturday morning that led to drunken driving charges.

At just before 10:30 p.m., officers were sent to the intersection of Rumford and North State streets near Curtice Avenue for a crash.

A driver drove a Toyota RAV4 over a median, causing damage to the vehicle. The SUV was facing southbound in the northbound lane when police arrived.

The first responding officer ran the plate on the SUV, which was from Massachusetts, and checked the driver and passengers, too. Later, a woman was arrested. Another passenger, according to scanner chatter, was taken into protective custody.

Just before 12:45 a.m. on Saturday, police were sent to a crash on Hopkinton Road near Long Pond.

A resident said she heard a crash and spoke with dispatch while going outside to see what happened. The woman then hung up the phone.

Officers found the car off into the woods and reported airbag deployment.

The driver, a Penacook man, was given a field sobriety test and arrested. An officer told dispatch a woman, who was a passenger, was complaining of chest pains, so Concord fire and rescue teams were requested. She was taken to Concord Hospital later by ambulance.

In between the calls, police and fire and rescue teams were also sent to an overdose at Bank of America on Storrs Street of a parolee on a drug conviction.

Another drunken driving arrest was also made on Storrs Street after a Jeep, also with a Massachusetts registration, was stopped.
