Dump Truck Driver In I-93 Bridge Strike Charged
State Police issue Conway man summons for negligent driving after crash that closed highway for hours Thursday morning.

CONCORD – New Hampshire State Police have charged the driver of a dump truck that struck an Interstate 93 overpass, forcing a highway closure for hours Thursday morning, with negligent driving.
Police say that the dump body of the truck Joseph Brady, 57, of Conway, was driving was in the lifted position and struck the Hoit Road Bridge at Exit 17. The scattered debris on the highway forced drivers who followed to swerve into accidents.
Those drivers were taken to Concord Hospital as a precaution. State Police said there were no serious injuries.

The highway was completely shut down for more than five hours while crews cleaned up the scene and assessed damage to the bridge. State Police reported all lanes were open as of 12:45 p.m.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

State Police posted on Twitter at 10:45 a.m. that one lane was to be open by noon.
