Dunbarton Man Busted for DWI in Hooksett

Police: Scott Young was allegedly found unconscious in the driver's seat of a running vehicle last night.

HOOKSETT, NH — A local man was arrested on a driving while intoxicated charge after police allegedly found him asleep at the wheel in the Hooksett Walmart parking lot, according to police. Scott Young, 46, of Dunbarton, was arrested on Feb. 27, 2017, on a single DWI charge.

Police stated in a Facebook post that around 8 p.m. last night, officers were sent to Walmart for a report of a man who was not conscious, behind the wheel of a running vehicle.

“When officers arrived, Young was responsive and was able to speak with the officers,” police alleged. “While speaking with Young, he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. Officers requested Young take standardized field sobriety tests which he agreed to, but performed poorly on.”

During a search of the vehicle, officers allegedly found an opened bottle of whiskey “located near where Young had been sitting inside the vehicle,” according to the report.

Young was arrested and later, released on $3,000 personal recognizance bail. He is due in court on March 10.
