Dunbarton Police Respond to Unattended Death Call

There is no danger to the public and the investigation on Twist Hill Road is on-going, according to police.

On Sunday, Feb. 1, around 10 a.m., Dunbarton Police were called to a residence on Twist Hill Road to perform a welfare check on the homeowner.

When police arrived on scene, no one came to the door after several attempts were made to make contact. With the assistance of the Dunbarton Volunteer Fire Department, police were able to gain access into the home and determined that the homeowner was deceased.

Officers on scene, in conjunction with the Medical Examiner’s Office, were able to determine that the circumstances surrounding the death were not suspicious. The deceased was identified as 53-year-old Jane Chmiel of Dunbarton.
