Ejection Reported After Crash On Interstate 93 In Hooksett

A driver was ejected from a car after a crash on the northbound side of the highway in Hooksett on Saturday and taken to Concord Hospital.

HOOKSETT, NH — Hooksett fire and rescue teams, as well as New Hampshire State Police, were sent to a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 93 Saturday.

The crash, possibly with ejection, was reported near Mile Marker 27 on the northbound side of the highway around 5:30 p.m.

A few minutes later, an off-duty Londonderry firefighter was at the scene and confirmed to the Capital Area Mutual Aid Fire Compact that the driver was ejected. Dispatch said the man, who was in his mid-40s, had shallow breathing.

When the first firefighters arrived, they confirmed “multiple vehicles” were involved in the crash and requested a third ambulance and a second fire team. Bow EMTs and AMR were then sent to the scene. The first arriving state trooper shut down the right two lanes of the highway.

Witnesses also reported debris on the southbound side of the highway due to the crash.

The Hooksett fire commander requested Concord fire and rescue teams to provide rapid sequence intubation — a process that clears the airway of the injured party for a lengthy period. They also asked Manchester firefighters to cover Hooksett and confirmed only one person was injured, the ejection victim, and one vehicle with significant damage.

The commander cleared Bow and AMR and requested Concord teams meet the Hooksett ambulance for an intercept at the Bow Junction of I-93 and I-89 instead. Concord’s fire commander staged at the Mobil near Exit 1 on I-89, according to scanner chatter. A state trooper also followed the EMTs to Concord Hospital.

Hooksett Fire released all the teams from the crash scene at 5:45 p.m.
