Concord Man Dies In Manufactured Home Fire: Follow-Up

Video: Alan Thorgerson of Concord died due to smoke inhalation after a fire on Thursday on Lantern Lane, according to officials.

CONCORD, NH — A man from Concord was killed due to smoke inhalation after a manufactured home fire on Thursday.

Just past 3 p.m., Capital Region Fire Dispatch reported an alarm activation at 10 Lantern Lane in Jensen’s Park off Manchester Street. Just before fire and rescue teams arrived, dispatch told them the call came from an occupant who reported hearing alarms inside the home.

When firefighters arrived, they saw smoke from the delta (right) side of the manufactured home and requested an additional engine. A line was stretched from one of the tankers to the back of the home, and firefighters began fighting the fire.

Firefighters, around 3:15 p.m., reported the fire victim was out of the building and was in Status 1 condition, meaning the victim had critical and life-threatening injuries. Firefighters also began searching for a possible second occupant at the home.

The New Hampshire Fire Marshal’s Office and fire prevention were then requested to the scene. Firefighters were able to get the fire under control around 3:30 p.m. They also reported not finding a second person inside.

Around 3:45 p.m., fire teams began clearing from the scene while a handful of firefighters stayed on. Concord police also arrived and stayed to keep the scene secure. The fire victim was then taken to Concord Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Yellow tape was put up around the area later.

On Friday, the New Hampshire Fire Marshal’s Office identified the victim as Alan Thorgerson, 60, of Concord. The state’s medical examiner’s office determined his death was caused by smoke inhalation, and the manner of his death was accidental.

News 603 posted a video from the scene on Facebook.
