Excavator Explosion, Fire Reported At Concord’s White Park: Watch

CONCORD, NH — Concord firefighters are investigating an explosion and fire at White Park near the pool and skate building.

Around 7:45 p.m., dispatch began receiving reports about a fire. A caller reported to capital region dispatch they heard an explosion and then saw flames.

Firefighters arrived and did not see anything at first. But later, as they got closer to the pool, they saw a construction vehicle on fire, which one firefighter called an excavator.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire in what appeared to be a tractor or payloader. A Concord officer also arrived.

Later, fire prevention and an investigator were requested due to the fire seeming suspicious.

An officer also reported to dispatch that earlier in the evening, while searching for a missing woman, police encountered some teenagers in the parking lot of the park — but did not know if they were involved.
