Falsifying Evidence After Heroin Overdose Leads to Charges

Concord woman faces felony charge.

A local woman with a long history of arrests and drug charges is facing a felony evidence charge after an overdose on Rumford Street last month.

Kirsten Lee Porter, 21, of Concord, was arrested at 9:09 p.m. on May 10, and charged with falsifying physical evidence, a felony, and a bench warrant.

Police were dispatched to Rumford Street for an open line to 911 with Concord Fire and Rescue teams heading to the scene for a possible heroin overdose. When the officer arrived, EMTs were working on a man who was passed out on the floor.

The officer spoke to Porter, who was at the scene, and asked what the man had taken. She reportedly told the officer the man was having a heroin overdose. Porter informed the officer that she had already talked to the paramedics and had reportedly attempted to give him some of her Suboxone to get him to come around. She then called 911 and started CPR.

The officer reported seeing two spoons that appeared to have drug residue in them and asked who else was there. She stated that someone else could have been there but she wasn’t sure.

“Porter stated that she called 911 and the phone got disconnected and she went to get the other phone and saw the drugs and tried to put them away before anyone arrived so (that he) wouldn’t get in trouble,” the officer alleged.

The man was given Narcan and came around, eventually standing up and walking out to the ambulance, according to the officer.

Another officer arrived at the scene to gather evidence and Porter was asked if there was anymore heroin in the house. Not that she knew of, she replied, adding that there might be some in his pant’s pockets. The officer checked his pants but didn't find any drugs. The officer then asked Porter where he got the drugs and the two talked for a bit about the case.

A check of Porter yielded a bench warrant for failure to pay a fine, $485 cash, out of Concord District Court, and she was taken into custody.

While in custody, Porter reportedly admitted that she had syringes and plastic cellophane pieces belonging to the man in her purse, according to the report, which were logged in as evidence in the case, and the felony charge was added.
