Ambulances were sent to a home on Route 4 near Ridge Road Tuesday morning after police responded to a disturbance call.

CONCORD, NH — An investigation of an officer-involved shooting is underway on Route 4 in Northwood after a domestic incident and armed standoff with police where a man was killed.
Around 5:15 a.m., a Northwood police officer was sent to a domestic incident between a man and his father, according to Michael Garrity, the attorney general’s office's communications director. The officer entered the home and an altercation ensued between the officer and Malcolm Burns, 34. During the altercation, the officer fired their gun at Burns and he was struck in the abdomen. Burns was pronounced dead at the scene, Garrity said.
Capital Region fire dispatch sent the Northwood ambulance to a home on the First New Hampshire Turnpike near Ridge Road around 5:30 a.m. for a man with a gunshot wound. Other posts on X by scanner jockeys reported the incident was for a barricaded subject and shots fired call. A man, woman, and children were in a bedroom after a fight with another man, the report stated. About 15 minutes later, the man was shot in the abdomen and was unconscious and not alert.
