Feltes Applauds Renewed Grant Funding
New England College students, others to benefit from $18.1 million grant renewal for biomedical research, workforce development.

The New Hampshire IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence made up of the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and the University of New Hampshire announced that is has received a five-year grant renewal, totaling $18.1 million from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) which is distributed to partner schools including Colby-Sawyer College, Franklin Pierce University, Keene State College, New England College, Plymouth State University, Saint Anselm College, and the Community College System of New Hampshire.
State Sen. Dan Feltes, D-Concord, released the following statement after learning of the announcement.
“Workforce development in the fields of biomedical research is a critical component of our state’s educational institutions and economic growth,” he said. “ I am pleased to see New England College in Henniker is a beneficiary of the National Institutes of Health grant as part of the network of New Hampshire colleges and universities who make up the New Hampshire IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence.”

This funding will allow New England College students the opportunity to undergo biomedical research training and benefit from projects geared towards building solid careers in this field, he noted, adding that he was pleased to see New England College among the institutions whose students will be supported by these resources.
