Several Teens Reportedly Involved In A Fight Downtown; Concord Police Are Investigating
Watch: Witnesses reported seeing juveniles fighting on South Main Street Wednesday morning; one teen was arrested, EMTs treated another.
CONCORD, NH — Police and fire and rescue teams were called to Downtown Concord on Wednesday morning for a report of juveniles fighting with at least one person on the ground.
Around 11:45 a.m., police dispatch received a report of “a group” of kids fighting in the area of Theatre and South Main streets. Descriptions of the suspects were given to police. The first arriving officer was able to speak with witnesses at the scene, who said another involved party darted down South Main Street. The officer reported handcuffing a suspect and said they would be charging him with assault on a police officer and resisting arrest.
“We have a bunch of unhappy bystanders in the area,” one officer said, while more officers headed to the scene.

A third officer said one of the fighters “lawyered up,” and that officer left the scene to hunt for other suspects.
Another officer was able to catch up to others on Storrs Street, not far from South Main Street, and said one man was “about to get arrested for resisting,” the officer said. A third man was also at the scene, they said. He was wearing a T-shirt that was ripped and “covered with blood.” He appeared to have a bloody nose and a head wound, the officer said.
EMTs were sent to check on the third man. He was treated but not taken to Concord Hospital.
Another officer began canvassing the area for witnesses.
Around noontime, an officer investigating the fight learned one of the suspects had recorded the incident with their cellphone. Fifteen minutes later, another witness stated a second person also recorded the incident with their cellphone.
Two of the men were under 18 and one was 18, according to police. Several parents were requested to come to the scene. One was charged.
News 603 posted a video of the investigation on Facebook.
About 30 minutes before, police were also told about an incident at Depot and North Main streets involving a man, dressed in black with a tan backpack, approaching women, “creeping up behind (them)” and pulling out a screwdriver, holding it by his side.
A Merrimack County Sheriff’s deputy was waved down by the witness and told dispatch that they were also searching the area for the man.
The man was found outside Market Basket a few minutes later by the deputy. After identifying him, police arrived to serve him with trespass paperwork from Nu Car on Manchester Street, following a previous incident there.
