Filing Period for Concord School Board Begins Sept. 9
Three city residents will be elected to District seats on Nov. 8. Possible candidates have until Sept. 19 to sign-up to run.

CONCORD, NH — The filing period for three new Concord Board of Education seats begins a week from this Friday, according to a press statement from school board clerk, Roger Phillips. Three seats will be open this election cycle: The District A seat, representing Wards 1, 2, 3, and 4, is currently represented by Jim Richards. Whoever fills the District B seat (Wards 5, 6, 7), which is currently held by Jennifer Patterson, the current vice president of the board, will also be decided by voters. The District C seat – Wards 8, 9, and 10 – is currently held by Rusty Cofrin and voters in those wards get to vote in that race, too.
The terms end on Dec. 31; the winners of the Nov. 8, 2016, election will be seated in the New Year.
Signups begin at 9 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 9, and close at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 19. The fee is $5. Candidates interested in running can file at Phillips’ law office at 104 Pleasant St. in Concord (use the Pine Street entrance).
