Filing Period for Mayor, Concord City Council Races Starts Friday

Signups for the Concord municipal election season begins on Friday. Here are the details from Concord City Clerk Janice Bonenfant:

The next municipal election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015. Interested parties wishing to file for municipal office, Mayor, City Councilor, or Ward Official for the Nov. 3, 2015, Municipal Election may do so from Sept. 4, 2015, through Sept. 14, 2015. Candidates wishing to file by petition have until Sept. 18, 2015 to do so. Filings are taken at the City Clerk’s Office.

The filing fee to run for Mayor or City Council member is $5. The filing fee to run for a ward official position is $1. Filings are accepted at the City Clerk’s Office during the noted filing period from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. between Monday and Friday. The City Clerk’s Office takes filings until 5 p.m on the last day of filing. 

Filings are taken for:

• Mayor: Two-year term
• Ward Councilor: Two-year term
• Councilor-At-Large: Four-year term
• Ward Moderator: Two-year term
• Ward Clerk: Two-year term
• Supervisor of the Checklist: Six-year term
