Fish & Game Arrest Concord Man After Run Through the Woods
State Fish and Game Officers say They Found Drugs in a 30-year-old Concord man's car
Fish and Game conservation officers on Sunday arrested a Concord man who landed his car in a ditch after he attempted to elude them.
According to the state agency's law enforcement division, Jonathan Benedict, 30, of Concord, was driving his car in an off-limits area under the power lines near Garvins Falls Road in Concord, police said. Two Fish and Game officers spotted him while they were on patrol. One officer stepped off his four-wheeler and made an effort to speak to Benedict, who was trying to turn around at a trail intersection.
However, when the officer approached and indicated the driver should stop and roll down his window, Benedict instead drove down a trail into the woods. A second officer on a four-wheeler went after the car and saw the driver speed up and attempt to jump a sand pile blocking the trail. The vehicle sailed over the sand pile but crashed in a ditch on the other side.
